May Update
As summer approaches, preparations for iPRES 2026 are moving full speed ahead, and we are excited to see the programme beginning to take shape. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far – we look forward to welcoming the global digital preservation community for an inspiring conference filled with new ideas, collaboration, and engaging discussions.
The iPRES 2026 Programme is taking shape
The peer-reviewed submissions have now completed the meta-review process; a major milestone on the road to iPRES 2026. Reviewers and committee members have spent the past weeks carefully evaluating contributions from across the digital preservation community, and we are excited by the quality and diversity of the submissions received.
We aim to have sent out notification of acceptance to authors of peer-reviewed submissions by June 1, end of day (AoT). Following this, the Programme Committee will begin drafting the conference schedule and shaping a programme designed to inspire discussion, collaboration, and new ideas across all conference tracks.
In mid-June, we will release an indicative list of accepted peer-reviewed submissions, giving attendees a first glimpse of the exciting research, projects, and initiatives that will be featured at iPRES 2026.
Last Call for Ad Hoc and Bake Off Contributions
There is still time to contribute to iPRES 2026! The deadline for all Ad Hoc and Bake Off submissions is 8 June. These interactive formats bring practical demonstrations, hands-on experiences, and lively discussions into the programme and are always among the highlights of the conference.
Join the iPRES Mentoring Progamme
Whether you are attending iPRES for the first time or are a long-time participant, the mentoring programme is a great opportunity to connect with fellow attendees, exchange experiences, and expand your network.
You can sign up for the mentoring programme via your registration. Read more at www.ipres2026.dk/programme/mentoring-programme/
Update to the Code of Conduct
We have updated the Code of Conduct with a new section regarding the use of AI-bots during online attendance. To protect the privacy of participants and ensure fair access to online sessions, iPRES discourages the use of AI-bots in meetings and presentations, except when used for accessibility purposes.
Recordings of selected streamed sessions will be made available after the conference, allowing attendees to revisit content they may have missed.

A network of expertise in long-term storage of digital resources in Germany
https://www.langzeitarchivierung.de/Webs/nestor/EN/Home/home_node.html
nestor was set up as a BMBF (German Federal Ministry for Education and Research) sponsored project (2003-2009) and has been continued on an independent basis by the former project partners together with other organisations since July 2009. In 2022 it was transferred into a formal association.
As a network it brings together a disparate array of institutions affected by digital preservation, experts and active project participants, all committed to the exchange of information, the distribution of tasks, the development of standards and the exploitation of synergy effects etc.
nestor’s work is not, however, restricted to Germany-based activities. The partners maintain close links with corresponding initiatives in other countries and are actively involved in European and international initiatives and projects.
