In-person full and student registrations allow you to attend all sessions, daily lunch catering during the main conference, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks for workshop and tutorial participants, and a ticket to both receptions. Online registration provides access to all online sessions as well as access to recordings from the online sessions. See our Registration page for more information.
Yes! Workshop/tutorial registrations are available at a reduced rate. See our Registration page for more information.
When registering, simply upload proof of your current student status to claim the reduced rate. Examples could include an acceptance letter, a copy of a student card or an enrolment certificate.
You can attend iPRES 2026 as a participant without an affiliated organisation. This is an option for those who are retired, between jobs, or otherwise unattached to an organization, and provides the option to attend at a discounted rate.
As of 3 July, applications for registration fee waivers and travel bursaries are closed.
The last day to register for in-person attendees is 5 September; the last day for online attendees is 16 September.
If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, please notify the conference organisers by email as soon as possible. Refunds are available on a sliding scale based on the cancellation date. See our Registration page for more information.
Registration may be transferred to another person, any applicable fee difference may apply. Please notify the conference organisers by email of the replacement attendee’s name and contact details.
Yes! IPRES 2026 is a hybrid conference offering both onsite and online sessions.
The sessions held in The Snow Queen, The Little Mermaid, and The Flying Trunk will be streamed.

Peer reviewed submissions–which include full and short papers, workshops and tutorials, panels, and posters–have been reviewed by multiple reviewers in a single-anonymised peer review process (also known as “single-blind peer review”) and will be published in the forthcoming iPRES 2026 Proceedings. Ad hoc contributions–including the iPRES Bake Off, lightning talks, birds of a feather sessions, and games–are much more informal and will not be published in the proceedings. See our Submission Guidelines page for more information about the different kinds of contributions.
Despite its name, the Digital Preservation Bake Off involves no actual baking! Instead, the “Bake Off” is a Tool Demo showcase where solution provides, and data wranglers (i.e., “Bakers”) test their solutions using files (i.e. ‘ingredients’) selected from a common set of inputs and requirements (i.e., “The Pantry”). Yes! In addition to a mentoring programme (see our Mentoring Programme page), our Attendee Experience Committee has put together a number of events and activities to help first-time attendees feel right at home, including social dinners on the evening of September 21! New and frequently attendees can also “plog” for coffee and pastries to help Copenhagen stay litter free in exchange for free coffee and pastries! See our Social Events page for more information.
iPRES Radio is an informal, interactive online companion to the iPRES 2026 conference that runs from 22 to 25 September in two different times. Each session, which occurs over Zoom and lasts for one hour, brings together digital preservation communities in their own time zone to talk about iPRES and catch up with what’s going on in Copenhagen. The weather can be very changeable in September. The temperature ranges between highs of about 15 degrees and lows of 10 degrees (Celsius), and it often changes between rain and sunshine.
It is good to bring plenty of layers and make sure to have shoes and outerwear that is suitable for rain.

Yes! Elevators and toilet facilities on every floor of DGI Byen; multiple accessible car spaces are available near the venue; and an induction loop is present on the left side of the large auditorium (The Little Mermaid) that will be used for plenary sessions as well as several other sessions. Please contact the conference organisers at this link if there are other ways we can make the venue more accessible.

Conference organisers have done much to enhance the conference’s sustainability, including minimizing food waste, selecting “green” venues and hotels, and encouraging walking, biking, or using public transportation to navigate Copenhagen. No, we do not have any childcare or a family room. Copenhagen is however a very family friendly city and there are many child-friendly activities near the venue.
