Submission Instructions (peer-reviewed)

Submissions will be peer-reviewed based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference themes
  • Originality, innovation, and contribution to the field of digital preservation
  • Clarity and organisation of ideas
  • Significance for the digital preservation field and impact on the community

General Requirements

  • Language: English
  • File Format: Microsoft Word Document (DOCX)
  • Templates: Use the provided iPRES 2026 template. Download it here:
  • Title: Up to 15 words
  • ORCID iD: Required for all authors. ORCID iDs uniquely identify researchers and link them to their work and affiliations.
  • Keywords:
    • Select up to 3 terms from the iPRES vocabulary spreadsheet that best describe the content of your submission, and up to 2 additional terms of your own choosing if needed.
    • For guidance on selecting the appropriate vocabulary terms, please refer to the ‘Usage Guidelines’ tab in the iPRES vocabulary spreadsheet.
  • AI Usage:
  • Submissions must be made through the ConfTool.
    The submission system is not yet available. Announcement with link will be provided in February 2026.

Specific Requirements by Contribution Type

Full and Short Papers

  • Use the Word template to submit your completed paper for peer-review.
  • Content: Must include original research, case studies, or technical contributions to digital preservation.
  • Length: Full papers – Up to 8 pages; Short Papers – Up to 4 pages.

Posters​

  • Use the Word template to submit your poster abstract for peer-review.
  • Content: Abstract summarizing the content of your poster.
  • Length: Up to 2 pages.
  • Poster requirements: Further instructions will be provided upon acceptance.

Workshops, Tutorials, and Panels

  • Use the Word template to submit your proposal.
  • Content: The proposal should cover session goals, target audience, format (e.g., hands-on, discussion), presenters (including facilitator if applicable), preferred duration, and any special requirements (e.g., software, space). Specify if a similar session has been given previously at a conference, and if so, whether any of the content has changed.
    • Workshops: Focus on Interactive, hands-on engagement with tools or best practices.
    • Tutorials: Structured educational sessions aimed at teaching skills relevant to digital preservation.
    • Panels: Focus on interactive discussions about significant issues or trends in digital preservation.
  • Length: Up to 3 pages.
