August Update
21 September is just around the corner, and iPRES 2026 is getting closer by the day! With the programme taking shape and conference week fast approaching, now is the time to make the final plans for your iPRES experience. Here’s what’s new this month.
Tutorials – two tutorials are now hybrid
Are you participating online you now have the possibility of joining the tutorials about METS and PREMIS on Monday. Join live in the morning for METS and in the afternoon for PREMIS, or watch the recordings later on. Register now via ConfTool at iPRES 2026 – ConfTool Pro – Login.
Professional Visits – Registration Is Open
Registration for the iPRES 2026 Professional Visits is now open! The visits offer a unique opportunity to step outside the conference venue and experience digital preservation in practice, with visits to archives, libraries, museums, and other organisations.
Places are limited, so we encourage you to sign up soon. If a visit has already reached capacity, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list.

Virtual Professional Visits do not require registration. They will be pre-recorded, with a short online Q&A session for each visit on Friday 25 September. Links to the recordings and Q&A sessions will be made available on the iPRES 2026 website.
FRiPRES 2026: A Francophone Satellite Event
On Monday 21 September, the first day of iPRES 2026, the francophone digital preservation community will come together for FRiPRES 2026.
This satellite event brings together professionals, researchers, and practitioners from across the francophone world to share experiences, innovations, and best practices, while highlighting the international and multilingual nature of the iPRES community.

LOCKSS Community Meeting
The LOCKSS team will host a community meeting during iPRES 2026, bringing together LOCKSS users, digital preservation practitioners, and anyone interested in learning more about the LOCKSS ecosystem.
The meeting will offer an open forum for networking, sharing institutional updates, and discussing regional challenges. The LOCKSS team will also provide an update on the software roadmap, followed by an open discussion on LOCKSS pipelines and integrations with repository systems and preservation tools such as Fedora, ArchivesSpace, DSpace, Archivematica, and Islandora.
Everyone is welcome to join the conversation.
The meeting will be held in Blockhead Hans room on the first floor CPH Conference Centre.
