iPRES 2026 is officially underway
After a successful workshop and tutorial day yesterday, iPRES 2026 is now well underway in Copenhagen, with the first full conference day bringing the international digital preservation community together.
Yesterday was a great start to the week, with workshops, tutorials, lively discussions and plenty of opportunities to share knowledge and experiences across the community.
Today, the main conference has officially begun, opening with a keynote by Sibyl Schaefer, who set the stage with an important perspective on the relationship between climate change and digital preservation. Drawing on her work at the intersection of climate science, digital infrastructure and digital stewardship, Sibyl highlighted the need to consider the resilience and sustainability of the systems we rely on to preserve our digital heritage.
With Community, Preservation and Horizon as this year’s themes, there is plenty more to come over the next few days — from inspiring talks and discussions to new connections and shared ideas across the field.
iPRES 2026 is officially underway, and we are excited for what the rest of the week will bring!
